97 Nigerians Deported From South Africa

97 Nigerians have been deported from South Africa, they include 95 males and 2 females.

The Nigerian Senate has decided to send complaints to the South African parliament over the brutal killings of Nigerians in South Africa.

On Monday night, the Nigerians deported from South Africa landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos from Johannesburg with flight registration number GBB710.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi confirmed the deportees arrival from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Sources who spoke to newsmen said about 6 of the Nigerians deported from South Africa has drug related cases and about 10 were deported for other criminal offenses while others were said to have committed immigration offenses in the country.

The Senate has resolved to formally protest the brutal killings of Nigerians living in South Africa

Senator Rose Oko from Cross River together with Ibrahim Kurfi, Tejuoso Olarenwaju, Obinna Ogah in a motion entitled ‘Resurgence of Xenophobic Attacks and Extra-judicial Killing of Nigerians in South Africa’ had urged the Senate to compel the Federal Government to reconsider Nigeria’s diplomatic ties with South Africa if the brutal killings of Nigerians do not stop.
